Ohio businesses are one step closer to an improved regulatory climate after a House committee this week voted unanimously to approve HB 230.

RULING PROTECTS ENVIRONMENTAL APPEALS PROCESS

A recent court decision has put on hold a new state law that resulted in hundreds of appealed environmental permits getting only the most cursory review before receiving a ruling.

BILL BENEFITS CERTAIN WORKING FAMILIES

Ohio lawmakers are considering a bill that would benefit parents who are under court-ordered parenting agreements over those who are not.

Rep. Linda Bolon (Columbiana) was selected, this week, to join the House Democrats’ leadership team as Assistant Majority Whip.  Her move to the leadership team follows Rep. Jennifer Garrison’s (Marietta) decision to resign as Majority Floor Leader to focus on her campaign for Secretary of State.  As a result, Rep. Tracy Heard (Columbus) moved up to Majority Floor Leader and Rep. Allan Sayre (Dover) became Assistant Majority Floor Leader.  All other members of the leadership team retained their positions.

Rep. Bolon was also appointed chair of the House Public Safety & Homeland Security Committee.
