BUDGET STALEMATE ENTERS NEW PHASE

A dispute over a key proposal in Gov. Strickland’s plan to fill a $3.2 billion shortfall and balance the FY 2010-11 state budget has generated a flurry of reactionary activity this week.

 

 

GOVERNOR VETOES PARTS OF WORKERS’ COMP BUDGET

 

Despite passing both the House and Senate with nearly unanimous support, the two-year Bureau of Workers' Compensation (BWC) budget was not greeted as enthusiastically by Governor Ted Strickland.

 

COURT LIMITS APPLICABILITY OF PREVAILING WAGE

Two weeks after the Ohio Supreme Court removed some uncertainty surrounding the applicability of Ohio’s prevailing wage requirement; it issued another decision that further narrows when the higher wage must be paid.

 

 

Legislative Update Publication Schedule

The Ohio Chamber will continue to publish Legislative Update until the Ohio General Assembly recesses for the summer. Publication may occur on different dates and less than on a weekly basis. However, the publication will reflect all current legislative activity that affects the business community, including the on-going state budget deliberations.
