CHAMBER RECOMMENDS ONE-YEAR BUDGET

 

With the state in a deep and prolonged economic downturn, the Ohio Chamber this week called on state leaders to enact a one-year budget for FY 2010, and forego the traditional two-year biennial budget. 

 

SENATE POISED FOR COMP TIME BILL VOTE

 

The Senate Insurance, Commerce & Labor Committee favorably recommended SB 17 to the full Senate this week with bipartisan support. 

 

CHAMBER URGES CAUTION ON FORECLOSURE BILL  

 

The Ohio Chamber weighed in this week on a bill aimed at curtailing mounting home foreclosures. 

 

 

 

Rep. Eugene Miller resigned from the Ohio House this week to fill a seat on Cleveland City Council. Miller was just elected to his second term in November 2008. House Democrats have formed a committee to screen candidates to replace him. One possible candidate is Roosevelt Coats, the member of Cleveland City Council that Miller replaced.
