This week the Ohio Senate did some major surgery on Gov. Strickland's $6.1 billion transportation budget.   

HOUSE CONSIDERS AUTISM MANDATE

The Ohio House held a second hearing on HB 8, an autism mandate that if passed would be among the broadest in the country. 

FORECLOSURE BILL COULD HARM OHIOANS

Among the top priority bills for majority democrats in the Ohio House are two proposals aimed at helping Ohioans who are involved in foreclosure actions.  

This week Senate democrats selected former representative Fred Strahorn to fill the 5^th district Senate seat vacated by Sen. Tom Roberts. Sen. Roberts resigned at the end of February to take a position with the Ohio Civil Rights Commission.

Mr. Strahorn served in the Ohio House from 2001 through 2008 when term limits prohibited him from seeking another term. During his House tenure, he accumulated a 48 percent pro-business voting record with the Ohio Chamber.
