Kansas Legislators tour NIAR facilities

The House Appropriations Committee of the Kansas Legislature toured the National Institute for Aviation Research at Wichita State University January 12.

NIAR Executive Director John Tomblin led a group of 20 through the Composites, Fatigue and Fracture, Crash Dynamics, Advanced Joining and Aerodynamics Laboratory. The tour was followed by lunch and a short presentation at NIAR.

The 2006 session of the  Kansas State Legislature began January 9.

In 2005, the state approved a total of more than $2 million in funding for NIAR research programs. Without the support of the state and federal government, many of NIAR's research programs would not be possible.
