After meeting graduates from Classes I - IX, Class X participants started their journey by traveling to Haines City to learn about Florida's history, environment, demographics, budget, and an took an in-depth look at their own leadership shape using Psycho-Geometrics©.

The students toured NASA's visitor center and met with Percy Luney (Exec II), vice president of education at Space Florida.  Next, the Florida High Tech Corridor Council provided behind the scenes tours educating the students about the growing arts and high-tech industries in Florida.

Class X also spent an afternoon volunteering at Give Kids the World. From face painting to serving dinner, the students did their assigned jobs with a smile and as always, Give Kids the World made a lasting impression on each of them.

The motto for College Leadership Florida is "Passing the Torch to Florida's Future," and this year's closing keynote came from Richard Lapchick. His presentation inspired the students to stick to their values no matter what kind of adversity they face on their journey through life.

Please look for College Leadership Florida students at the Leadership Florida Regional events around the state, and contact Sara Bennett if you are interested in becoming a mentor.

Presidential Appointments

Note from the Chair:
As the Chair for Government Appointments I want to share a exciting opportunity for community service through the Selective Service System. These are Presidential appointments that require the approval of the Governor. The ideal applicant will be civic minded and able to make rational judgments. It is my hope that we can fill these vacancies with Leadership Florida members.  Please click here for more information.

Sincerely,
