New Lifetime Member

Thank You Doug

Doug Holt
(XXIV), director of Hillsborough County Health Department is Leadership Florida's newest lifetime member.

Currently 125 alumni have chosen this membership option, where: Lifetime Members make a pledge of $6,000 to the Leadership Florida Alumni Endowment Fund and when the entire gift is completed, the donor is no longer responsible for paying annual dues. Over the long term - and most of our members intend on being involved in Leadership Florida for the long haul - this is a great deal. The entire gift is tax-deductible, and strengthens the health of Leadership Florida, allowing it the sound financial footing it needs to continue to fulfill its mission and serve its members. Pledges can be paid all at once (there is a 10% discount for gifts paid in one lump sum), or extended over a period of time up to five years.

For more information on becoming a Lifetime Member contact Chris Lucas at

Annual Meeting Spotlight:
FAB - A Tribute to the Beatles

Join us Saturday evening as we celebrate our 25th Anniversary with FAB. A band of Nashville's top session musicians, record producers and songwriters whose common love for Beatles music brought them together. When they're not writing , playing and singing, or producing hit country CDs, they get their kicks by paying homage to the band that changed the course of popular music in the 60's.

Their joy comes from reproducing those songs  note for note, word for word and sound for sound. The result is an amazing recreation of Beatles music.

FAB's repertoire includes music from every Beatles album; from the early "mop top" years through the "Sgt. Pepper" stage and all the way to "The End " of "Abbey Road".

DAVID KENT
(Vocals, Percussion) After touring for 5 years with the pop duo, Hall & Oates, on keys and background vocals, David released a solo album on Epic Records in '83 and then settled in Nashville to focus on writing. His songs have been recorded by gold and platinum selling artists like Martina McBride, Neal McCoy, Rodney Atkins, Tracy Byrd and others including Blake Shelton, whose debut single, "Austin" was the #1 country song for 5 straight weeks.

TIM BUPPERT (Drums, Vocals) Without knowing it, you've probably already heard Tim's voice on radio & TV jingles for Pepsi, Chevy Trucks, Luv's, Mello-Yellow and other "name brands". In addition to being one of Music City's top-tier, in demand studio vocalists (with more than 5,000 recording projects to his credit), Tim has achieved success as a songwriter with Kevin Sharp's #1 "She's Sure Taking It Well" and Yankee Grey's top ten single, "Another Nine Minutes".

BILL ROBERTS (Keyboards, Vocals) Bill is a veteran session and touring musician who has written, sung and played on numerous nationally-syndicated commercials for radio and TV. He is an award winning composer/artist for a series of children's books on tape, and wrote and performed the entire soundtrack for an audio Bible CD from the world's largest Christian publishing house. Bill's contemporary jazz talents were recently made evident with the release of his second album of original compositions, "I Sing the Piano Electric".

TED HEWITT (Guitar, Vocals) Ted has done it all…as a singer, picker, writer, and producer in Nashville , he's worked with a list of legendary artists which includes, Glen Campbell, Waylon Jennings, Alabama, Kenny Rogers and Reba McEntire. He won the "Country/Gospel Song of the Year" award for writing "Wine into Water" by T. Graham Brown, and produced country music's recent #1 album for Rodney Atkins with the #1 single "Goin' Through Hell".

JOHN FOSTER (Guitar, Vocals) John is another "1st Call" player and singer for Music City recording sessions. He wrote Curb recording artist Steve Holy's recent hit "I'm Not Breakin'" and performs in Holy's band. John's road work resume also includes guitar and vocal work with country's Sammy Kershaw and some time working as a member of legendary super-group, The Beach Boys, playing guitar and singing those famous Brian Wilson high vocal parts.

ALISON PRESTWOOD (Bass) Truly one of country music's busiest musicians, Allison's bass work is in demand by Nashville's top producers and artists across the board. Since moving to Nashville in '93, she has toured with Patty Loveless, Rodney Crowell and Olivia Newton-John, and Shawn Colvin, and has recording credits with some of country's biggest names, including Trace Adkins and Blake Shelton as well as pop star Jessica Simpson.
