1979 V-Tail
The landmark Bonanza is a 1979 V-35B model, one of the last classic V-tail versions built. In addition to CAV’s TKS™ modification, it has been upgraded with an Atlantic Aero engine and cowling installation as well as a custom avionics suite and a redone interior.

It belongs to Randy Africano, a board member of the American Bonanza Society. CAV offers TKS™ for all 36 and 33-series Bonanzas as well as on S thru V series 35 models. Africano owns and operates Peoria-based AAM Consulting, a full-service, multi-faceted air medical consulting firm that specializes in the air medical industry.

“We are grateful to Randy Africano for letting us display his very unique and classic Bonanza V-Tail at Oshkosh,” said Kevin Hawley, CAV Aerospace, Inc. president.  “We encourage everyone to take a look at this great airplane and the other TKS™-equipped aircraft we also have on display.”

How Does TKS™ Ice Protection Work?
CAV’s TKS™ systems provide anti-icing protection by exuding a measured amount of glycol-based ice protection fluid through precision laser-drilled microscopic holes in wing leading edges fashioned of titanium. There is also a dispersion mechanism for propellers.

CAV offers Weeping Wing TKS™ installations for most high-performance general aviation aircraft. More than 6,000 general aviation aircraft and unmanned aircraft have flown with the company’s proven ice protection system.

OEM and After-Market
CAV delivers TKS™ ice protection systems to aircraft manufacturers and provides retrofit installations to after-market aircraft customers. CAV Aerospace, Inc. is headquartered in North America at the SLN Aviation Service Center on the Salina Airport in Kansas.

CAV’s corporate functions are in Salina, including, administration, engineering, marketing, customer support, purchasing, and installation activity. CAV’s customer base includes a number of aircraft manufacturers and more than 6,000 aircraft owners who fly their products:
