Proclamation: A simple way to
protect your aircraft from ice

Step 1:
One simple flip of the switch is all it takes to activate the TKS Ice Protection System. There’s no worrying about cycling boots at just the right moment. Or generating enough power to keep your airplane protected in all the critical aerodynamic areas.

Our patented system releases a constant flow of glycol on wings, tail surfaces, prop and windshield.

The TKS Ice Protection System from CAV Aerospace has been proven effective in flight tests, with virtually no loss of flight performance. The system is lightweight and certified for flight into known icing for some models.

It’s not too late. Yet.
Winter’s already here

CAV Aerospace President Kevin Hawley reports that the company’s TKS Ice Protection System installation facility in Salina, Kan. is filling up with customer aircraft just ahead of the winter flying season. Some areas of the country are already reporting the onslaught of winter weather conditions.

“We have just a few slots available and are pretty full for the rest of the year,” Hawley says. “Now is the right time to call to get your airplane scheduled before we get too busy as we get further into the season.”

CAV’s order backlog is healthy, which is good news in a down economy that has hit the aviation industry hard, he adds. The order book is following recent seasonal trends and does not seem to be impacted by the current economic malaise.

CAV Aerospace in Florida
this week for AOPA Summit

If you are going to the AOPA Aviation Summit in Tampa Nov. 5-7, please check out the CAV Aerospace presence at Peter O. Knight Airport, 825 Severn Ave. CAV representatives will be at the event to answer any questions about the TKS Ice Protection System on your airplane. The Summit and Airportfest will feature various events and opportunities to touch, test, and interact with the people and technology relevant to the way you fly.

On display on the tarmac will be an early model Bonanza 36 owned by Rob Basile of Cincinnati, Ohio. The aircraft was featured in the May 2009 edition of the American Bonanza Society magazine. Rob and his wife, Kim, own AB Plastics a plastic fabrication firm.

Rob decided to have the TKS Ice Protection System installed on his Bonanza after several business trips had to be cancelled due to weather conditions.

“For what I do, it's a perfect business tool - particularly now that I have the TKS system,” Basile says. For the complete ABS article go to View this issue in its entirety .
