TKS™ Ice Protection Might

Qualify for Bonus Depreciation

CAV Aerospace Inc. wants customers to know that the cost of upgrading their aircraft to the proven TKS™ Ice Protection System in 2009 just might qualify for bonus depreciation on their federal income taxes.

Depending on customers’ individual tax situations, incentives passed in the federal government’s new economic stimulus package might apply because it will add value to their business aircraft.

“However, before making any decision to upgrade, aircraft owners should check with their tax advisors, because we are not in a position to provide tax advice,” said CAV Aerospace Inc. President Kevin Hawley. He also noted that since CAV is located in Kansas that TKS™ installations are exempt from sales taxes for parts and labor.

Because flight utilization is down due to the worldwide economy, this might be a great time to schedule improvements to your aircraft. Improving the value and extending the useful life of your business tool has never been smarter," Hawley said.

Certain improvements may qualify for favorable tax treatment although approved upgrades must be installed on the aircraft before Dec. 31, 2009 to qualify.* So, if you were waiting to schedule your airplane for the best ice protection available, now may be the time.
